About Us

Who We Are

Over the academic term 2018-2019, a wildly interdisciplinary set of faculty at the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies became compelled by the question of how to align our jobs with a livable climate. A few of us (Anna Casas-Aguilar, Jessica Dempsey, Sara Milstein, Malabika Pramanik) decided to make facilitating conversations and action around this a goal for the coming year. This includes pushing ourselves and the university to recognize its material impact; not only in terms of the way buildings are heated on campus, or compost is handled, but also in the very way that the academy is organized and our jobs structured. Our conversations thus aim to envision new ways of being active and productive academics that are in line with the pressing issue of climate change.
